The American Numistatic Association Authentication Bureau (ANAAB)

The American Numismatic Association Authentication Bureau (ANAAB) offers independent, unbiased, professional opinions about the attribution and authenticity of numismatic items, including all coins and all medals, tokens, and obsolete paper money. Authenticity determinations are made by experienced numismatists, using the most accurate research information available and state-of-the-art techniques. No other service offers more to the collector.

The successor to the first major U.S. authentication service established in 1971-ANAAB is one of many services offered by the world's largest, nonprofit, educational organization for collectors of coins, paper money, tokens and medals.

Since its inception, ANA's authentication service has amassed descriptive and historical information and photographic records of more than a half million coins.

ANAAB is dedicated to furthering the numismatic hobby by ridding the marketplace of counterfeit and altered coins.

By widely disseminating its findings, the ANA has earned international recognition because of the reduction of numismatic forgeries.
